The primary purpose of this position is to assist First Commerce in fulfilling our Vision of Empowering Generations, Transforming Communities. This is achieved through delivering Remarkable Member Service as defined by our Service Standards as well as building and maintaining strong member relationships through identification of member's financial needs and effectively recommending appropriate products and services to meet those needs. The Small Business Banker is responsible for developing and managing relationships with small business members, primarily focusing on lending opportunities under $75,000, deposit growth, and treasury services (remote deposit capture, positive pay, merchant services, and ACH). This role serves as a trusted financial partner to business members by providing tailored solutions that support their success and strengthen the credit union's market presence. The position also plays a key role in identifying and referring larger credit opportunities to Commercial Loan Officers for further relationship development. Responsibilities: Interview small business members and prospective members to understand financial needs, goals, and operations. Recommend appropriate lending products, deposit accounts, and treasury services (ACH, RDC, Merchant Services, etc.). Provide excellent service and follow-up to ensure a high level of member satisfaction and retention. Analyze business financials, credit reports, and repayment capacity for loans under $75,000. Prepare and submit loan documentation for underwriting in alignment with credit union policies. Refer commercial loan opportunities exceeding $75,000 to the appropriate Commercial Lending Officer and support the transition process. Proactively identify and pursue new small business opportunities within the assigned market. Build and maintain referral networks with CPAs, attorneys, realtors, and other community professionals. Represent First Commerce Credit Union at networking events and community functions. Partner with Retail and Commercial Lending teams to support member needs and cross-sell services. Serve as a subject matter expert for small business solutions in assigned financial centers. Maintain effective communication and collaboration with other departments. Ensure all activities and documentation are in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Monitor loan performance and follow up on delinquencies or risk indicators as needed. Participate in ongoing training and professional development. Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned. Perform other duties as required to support the credit union's mission and goals. Requirements: Must be able to travel locally between branches and to business locations (~2530% of the time). Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to analyze financial statements and make sound credit recommendations. Demonstrated ability to recognize when member needs exceed the small business product suite and refer larger credit opportunities to Commercial Lending. Member-focused with a consultative sales approach. Comfortable working independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with core systems and lending software preferred. Other Responsibilities: Performs job duties in accordance with policies established by the Board of Directors under the rules and regulations set by the National Credit Union Administration, the State of Florida, and any applicable State laws for financial centers located in other States. Complies with Reg E, BSA, OFAC, and CIP requirements such as reporting suspicious or unusual activity to manager. Fully supports in actions and words First Commerce's Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Service Standards. Performs other duties as assigned. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent Knowledge of banking operations and regulations desired.
