Vice President Of Business Development
QinetiQ US is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and highly experienced Vice President of Business Development (VP of BD) to lead and grow our business pipeline in the Army domain, with an emphasis on persistent surveillance, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities, international defense markets, and missile defense systems. Prior experience supporting SOCOM is highly desired. This is a key leadership role with high visibility, responsible for developing new market strategies, forging trusted customer relationships, and driving growth from opportunity identification through successful capture. Responsibilities: Serve as the senior business development lead for Army and international ISR-related markets, with deep understanding of Army operations, modernization priorities, and acquisition strategy. Lead all phases of the BD lifecycle (identify, shape, qualify, capture, and win), focusing on persistent surveillance, integrated ISR capabilities, and defense missile systems. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the Department of the Army, Program Executive Offices (PEOs), Program Managers (PMs), Army Futures Command, and international defense buyers. Lead multi-disciplinary teams to develop and execute comprehensive capture strategies, leveraging company capabilities and partner solutions to address customer needs. Provide strategic direction and leadership across multiple large-scale pursuits, including international opportunities and emerging markets aligned to Army modernization and global ISR demand. Shape customer requirements through proactive engagement, capability briefings, solution demonstrations, and participation in key industry and defense forums. Collaborate with executive leadership, engineering, capture/proposal teams, and operations to ensure alignment of business development goals with corporate strategy. Maintain awareness of the competitive landscape, threats, and industry trends, and contribute to shaping differentiated value propositions and go-to-market strategies. Represent QinetiQ in federal and international business arenas, including policy and technology forums, as a thought leader and trusted industry partner. Support internal talent development by recruiting, mentoring, and retaining high-performing BD and capture professionals. Engage with QinetiQ's Global Government Relations (GGR) to support advocacy and policy initiatives aligned with defense priorities and innovation funding. Travel up to 50% (domestically and internationally). Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience in the Aerospace & Defense sector, including 5+ years leading large, competitive captures. Master's degree preferred. Proven experience and success in Army RD&A environments, with a strong preference for prior service, acquisition roles, or leadership within a PEO or PM office. Demonstrated expertise in ISR capabilities, persistent surveillance technologies, and defense missile solutions. International defense business development or export/FMS experience strongly preferred. Familiarity with SOCOM operations, acquisition priorities, or mission requirements is a plus. Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment. Capture Management Certification (internal or external equivalent) desirable.
