The opportunity: We're adding a Senior Manager, Strategic Finance to our Finance team to drive strategic decision-making and support our ambitious growth plans. You'll play a critical role in financial planning & analysis, board and investor relations, and strategic finance initiatives as we continue to scale our broader finance team. This role reports directly to the Head of Finance and partners closely with executive leadership across the organization to drive data-informed decision-making. As the first strategic finance hire, you will act as a bridge between finance, sales, operations, and product. This is a hybrid opportunity requiring three days/week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) working out of our office located in TriBeCa. What you'll do: Prepare board materials including financial performance updates, KPI dashboards, and strategic initiative progress reports Own strategic planning processes including quarterly business reviews, annual budget development, and long-term strategic planning Conduct financial analysis to support key business decisions including pricing strategy, market expansion, product launches, and M&A opportunities Build and maintain complex financial models for scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and strategic option evaluation Partner with key executive and leadership teams to identify and evaluate strategic initiatives including business case development, ROI analysis, and implementation planning Own the monthly financial reporting process, including variance analysis, commentary, and executive summary preparation Conduct competitive analysis, market research, and benchmarking studies to inform strategic decision-making What you'll bring: 6+ years of relevant progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in strategic finance, FP&A, investment banking, or private equity Proven experience building and maintaining complex financial models in Excel/Google Sheets Strong analytical skills with the ability to distill large data sets into actionable insights Track record of working in or with high-growth, venture-backed companies Excellent business judgment with ability to influence decisions through data-driven recommendations Comfort working with senior executives, board members, and investors Rigorous and detailed oriented with focus on accuracy and completeness Clear, concise communication skills with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to a diverse audience Experience in SaaS, technology, or subscription-based businesses strongly preferred Bonus points if: Experience with IPO or public companies Familiarity with B2B and B2C business models Experience with SQL and data analytics tools (e.g. Looker) Interview Process: Intro call with Talent Acquisition team Interview with Hiring Manager Take-Home Assignment On-site Panel Interview Benefits and Compensation: Meaningful Equity Stake Subsidized Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance plan options 401(k) FSA, HSA and commuter benefits Open vacation policy, including: Guidance of 15 days PTO annually Stepful closed the last week of December 15 work-from-anywhere days 10 public holidays observed for 2025 The target base salary range for this opportunity is $145,000 - $175,000 and is part of a competitive total rewards package including equity and benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, internal pay equity and other relevant business considerations.
