Our partner firm, A.J. Santye & Co. based in Somerville, NJ is hiring! We are seeking an experienced Director of Tax, Audit & Accounting to join our team. This pivotal leadership role oversees all aspects of tax compliance, planning, audit, and accounting within the organization. The Director plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with tax laws and regulations, delivering high-quality audit services, and implementing strategies to minimize tax liabilities while maximizing overall financial efficiency. What You'll Do Lead all phases of tax planning, preparation, review, compliance, and research. Oversee preparation and review of Individual, Fiduciary, Corporate, Partnership, and Multistate returns. Direct and review audit engagements, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting, ensuring adherence to professional standards and client expectations. Manage financial accounting functions, including month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Interpret tax laws, accounting standards, and regulations to provide strategic client recommendations. Manage engagement planning, staffing, scheduling, and workflow across tax, audit, and accounting services. Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting and audit staff. Drive efficiencies and identify opportunities to expand client services. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Accounting and CPA license (required). 7+ years of experience in a CPA firm, with demonstrated expertise in tax, audit, and financial accounting. Proficiency in UltraTax CS, Checkpoint, Microsoft Office, and Intuit products (preferred). Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills. Detail-oriented with a positive, solution-focused mindset. This position operates as part of a US East Coast-based team, with typical working hours aligning with EST to facilitate effective collaboration. This position offers a competitive salary range of $150,000-$200,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
