Secret Unspecified Aerospace and Aviation Location: San Diego, CA (On-Site/Office) Duties
You will disassemble, repair, assemble, modify, measure, and/or check, as required, to process aircraft, aircraft engine structures, components, assembles, and/or sub-assemblies. You will perform a variety of metal repair, fabrication, plan, layout and structural disassembly/assembly of aircraft and aircraft components. You will work with plastics and various metals and apply knowledge of basic level shop mathematics. You will work from drawings, manuals, technical directives, instructions and at times, under the guidance of a higher-graded mechanic. Requirements
Conditions of employment: Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. This is a bargaining unit position. You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present. You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You will be required to lift and carry objects up to 45 lbs. You will be subject to various noise levels which continuously exceed 85 DBA. This position requires near vision correctable at 14" to Jaeger 2 and far vision correctable in one eye 20/20 and to 20/40 in the other. This position may require climbing which could exceed heights of 20 feet or more. You must obtain and maintain required certification and/or license as a condition of employment. Qualifications
