Manufacturing Technician C
The Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment of L3Harris is seeking a Manufacturing Technician C to work at our Orange, VA location. Our site near Culpeper, VA, in beautiful, rural Orange County (1.5 hours from Washington, DC) is growing! This site is our center of excellence for Solid Rocket Motor Propulsion and Energetics development as well as high-complexity production programs. Under general supervision, the Manufacturing Technician performs a wide range of duties within the manufacturing operations area. They apply specialized manufacturing knowledge to basic problems to come up with logical answers. This position will perform functions such as fabrication of components, clean and assemble equipment, cleans tools, parts, and work area, operate machinery. Essential Functions: Precision Assembly of complex aerospace components. Pressure test, bond, assemble, precision part clean, mix adhesive, torque fasteners, and all other duties and tasks required to assemble and prepare for shipment of products. Maintain records for manufactured products. Work safely while producing a high quality product and maintaining a clean and orderly work area. With the guidance from supervisor/lead personnel, make precise adjustments in moving the controls of the machine/equipment to exact position such as offsets and axis movement. Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or lead. May mentor less senior personnel. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required and (six) 6 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Additional Skills: Experience with using torque tooling, mixing and applying adhesives, leak check testing, pressurized systems, electrical grounding and bonding checks, electrical connectors and electromechanical component assembly and test, general computer (windows), Standard Measurement Instruments (SMI), and precision component cleaning. Experience with using precision scales, operation of industrial processing equipment, cleaning solvents, mixing operations, inventory control, record keeping, and assembly of process tooling. Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions. Ability to follow safety practices. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with the work team and those contacted in the course of work. Ability to read, interpret and understand work instructions, drawings, etc. Ability to work with management, supervisor or lead personnel to prioritize work and meet critical deadlines.
