ESG And Supply Chain Governance Specialist
We are seeking a forward-thinking and collaborative ESG and Supply Chain Governance Specialist to support the development and execution of responsible and resilient supply chain strategies. This role plays a key part in embedding ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles into supplier engagement, procurement operations, and quality assurance processes. The ideal candidate brings a blend of supply chain experience and sustainability knowledge, with the ability to work across functionsincluding Purchasing, Supplier Quality, Operations, and Complianceto ensure ethical sourcing, environmental stewardship, and risk mitigation across our global value chain. Responsibilities: General: Integrate ESG goals into supply chain strategies, processes, and decision-making in alignment with corporate sustainability objectives and evolving regulations. Partner closely with Purchasing and Supplier Quality teams to embed ESG metrics, risk criteria, and responsible sourcing standards into supplier selection, evaluation, and onboarding processes. Conduct supply chain risk assessments, identifying environmental, social, geopolitical, and operational vulnerabilities, and lead mitigation efforts in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Implement and track supplier ESG assessments, audits, and corrective action plans to ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and third-party certifications. Drive initiatives to decarbonize the supply chain, including tracking Scope 3 emissions and supporting supplier engagement around climate targets. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure ESG considerations are integrated into supplier contracts and governance processes. Support ESG reporting and disclosure efforts, including the collection and validation of supplier data for reports. Develop and deliver training and awareness programs for internal teams and suppliers on ESG best practices, compliance expectations, and resilience planning. Monitor and report on key performance indicators for supplier ESG performance, resilience readiness, and risk exposure. Stay current on regulatory developments and industry trends affecting sustainable supply chains and supplier responsibility. Health, Safety and Environmental Responsibility: Ensure all safety and non-safety rules and regulations are followed. Ensure adherence to established quality and housekeeping standards. Review and adhere to MML's health and safety, environmental, and quality standards, operating procedures, and policies. Respond immediately to items brought to his/her attention with respect to hazards, defects or non-compliance issues. Understand and uphold the policies that prohibit workplace violence and harassment. In addition to the above, the duties include those specified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act. Requirements and Qualifications: Experience in a global manufacturing, technology, or industrial environment is preferred. Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, manufacturing, engineering, business, or related discipline. 58 years of experience in supply chain, ESG, sustainability, supplier quality, or risk management roles. Strong understanding of ESG frameworks and supply chain compliance standards. Proven ability to collaborate across Purchasing, Supplier Quality, and Compliance functions. Experience with supplier audits, risk scoring tools, and data platforms related to ESG and sustainability. Strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills. Must have demonstrated success in satisfying OEM's and Tier 1 suppliers in a complex, competitive automotive market. Complies with the designated ISO / 14001 responsibilities related to effective environmental management in accordance with Magna's Environmental Management System. Working Conditions: While working in this environment, the employee will be exposed to machinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes and various levels of temperature created by manufacturing processes.
