Your role at Baxter will be located at the Round Lake Technology 1 Container Engineering Laboratories in Round Lake, IL. The position encompasses the physical analyses/testing on Medical Devices/Disposables and Containers throughout the developmental stages of the manufacturing process. This is a first shift position, on-site 5 days per week. What You'll Do: Conduct critical functional testing on Medical Devices and Containers with minimum supervision. Use moderately complex laboratory instrumentation (Instron, Microscope, etc.) and computer systems to collect and record data. Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with company SOPs and specifications, FDA, GLP, and cGMP regulations. Participate in cross-functional teams, which impact production, increase efficiency, solve problems and generate cost savings. Perform laboratory audits as required. Maintain adequate inventory of laboratory supplies. Perform equipment maintenance and calibrations as required. Document the completion of testing in Notebooks and/or Data Sheets. Maintain accurate and complete quality records. Follow, understand and align with Baxter SOP's and policies on cGMP's and safety. Maintain a clean, safe and organized lab area, and assume responsibility to ensure that others maintain their lab areas. Support improvement projects and drive efficiency through utilization of LEAN management principles (i.e. 5S, Kaizens, etc.). Proactively and cooperatively communicate with peers and management to ensure awareness of progress and issues; recommend solutions when issues arise. Mentor Technicians through short term and long term projects. Other projects as assigned. What You'll Bring: High School Diploma or equivalent, Associates degree preferred, with 2-5 years of experience. Knowledge of Electronic Laboratory Notebook is preferred but not required. Knowledge of GLP, cGMP requirements is preferred but not required. Good communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills. Good critical thinking/problem solving skills. Good computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Self-motivated and willing to adapt in a dynamic environment Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds periodically We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $56,000 to $77,000 plus an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
