B4 Auto Parts Sales Manager
Norfolk Southern Corp. is seeking a dedicated and proactive Auto Parts Development Manager to oversee and enhance our relationships with auto customers with rail opportunity. This role involves managing of auto parts related opportunities on the NS network, ensuring customer satisfaction, integrating rail into the supply chain, and optimizing the rail service product to promote truck to rail conversions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in customer service, a deep understanding of the railroad industry, and expertise in intermodal, automotive, and specifically the auto parts supply chain. Key Responsibilities: Sales & Business Development:
Identify opportunities to expand business with existing customers through cross-selling of the Triple Crown suite of products (domestic 53' service), expanding beyond current scope and integrating with the international intermodal portfolio of services as well as traditional carload. Monitor competitor activities and industry trends to provide insights on pricing, product offerings, and customer service improvements. Work with the NS sales & marketing team to develop comprehensive proposals, pricing strategies, and potentially special sign-on offers tailored to OEMs
Customer Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships freight operators, parts suppliers, transload facilities, and OEMs. Act as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, complaints, and product requirements. Identify customer needs and propose customized solutions to ensure their satisfaction with auto parts rail service Regularly communicate with clients to ensure they are receiving the best service and products for their operations.
Product Management & Supply Chain Coordination:
Coordinate with tiered suppliers and aftermarket parts for supply chain needs Collaborate with suppliers and logistics teams to ensure seamless fulfillment of expected service and asset utilization.
Reporting & Analytics:
Prepare regular reports on customer satisfaction, sales performance, inventory levels, and market trends. Analyze customer feedback to recommend improvements in service, product offerings, and operational processes.
Qualifications: Experience:
Previous experience with auto parts supplier strongly preferred (Tier 1, 2, etc...) Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in customer service, account management, or sales within the automotive or railroad industries. Strong understanding of auto parts, railroad equipment, and product offerings.
Skills:
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple customer accounts simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
