This role leads a team of Underwriters and manages relationships with regional brokers. Key responsibilities include: Underwriting, pricing, and negotiating accounts consistent with the quality of the risk and according to the company's strategies and guidelines for the product lines. Identifying underperforming brokers and renewal books and engaging the team and key stakeholders to drive improvements. Building collaborative relationships with Underwriters across the US offices. Achieving production targets and underwriting business profitably. Functioning as an escalation point for both personnel and underwriting-related concerns and providing day-to-day coaching and development to team members. Technical requirements include: Expertise in leading, motivating, and developing a team of Underwriters to achieve business results. In-depth knowledge of underwriting policies, procedures, and guidelines. Advanced risk assessment, business needs assessment, and pricing knowledge. Basic knowledge of broker performance variables and ability to respond effectively. Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
