Office Assistant - HSC Development
Performs a range of basic office support activities for a unit/department, such as performing routine clerical, data entry, and/or word processing work as assigned. Essential functions include performing a variety of routine typing assignments, operating a personal computer to draft basic correspondence, entering data, and printing letters, labels, reports, and other materials; typing and mailing form letters. Distributing correspondence and other material to department staff/faculty, copying and/or duplicating materials as requested, overseeing day-to-day operation of copy machine, preparing and transmitting facsimiles for the unit, establishing, maintaining, processing, and/or updating files, records, and other documents, performing specialized services of a routine clerical/administrative nature in strict accordance with established procedural guidelines, stocking and distributing office supplies, running various routine errands for the unit/department, performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned, and assisting in event planning, execution, set-up, and break-down when necessary. Knowledge/skills/abilities required include records maintenance skills, ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures, ability to prepare and print routine correspondence, labels, and other basic written material, skill in the use of operating basic office equipment, word processing and/or data entry skills, respect and adherence to UNMF policies regarding the need for confidentiality of UNMF donors and colleagues, valid driver's license, clean driving record and reliable transportation, detailed knowledge of both main campus and north campus also a plus, ability to handle multiple tasks on short notice, comfortable working independently but also able to work with a group as needed, interest in nonprofit work a plus, familiarity with Health Sciences a plus, and preferred: work study eligible student with 2-3+ years remaining at UNM.
