If this all sounds like you, read on Meow Wolf is seeking a Supervising Video Editor to lead the post-production and animation processes for a wide range of multimedia content across our exhibitions, brand campaigns, and immersive experiences. This position is both strategic and hands-on, providing editorial leadership, workflow oversight, and creative mentorship to a team of editors, animators, and post professionals. The ideal candidate is a seasoned post-production leader with 10+ years of experience in editorial roles across commercial, narrative, and artistic formats. You'll help guide the visual storytelling of Meow Wolf's story universe while ensuring all deliverables meet the highest creative and technical standards. Key responsibilities include: Leading and supervising the editing, animation, compositing, and finishing of video content across exhibition, brand, and marketing channels. Providing creative direction and feedback to in-house and freelance editors, animators, and VFX artists to ensure alignment with Meow Wolf's creative vision. Reviewing and interpreting notes from creative leadership and implementing necessary editorial changes. Editing and compositing content directly, contributing hands-on expertise to high-profile or complex projects. Mentoring and managing a multidisciplinary post-production team, fostering a collaborative and inspired studio environment. Delegating work effectively while motivating team members to perform at their best. Collaborating closely with Creative Directors, Producers, Project Managers, and cross-functional departments to ensure cohesive execution across all media. Developing, maintaining, and enforcing efficient post-production and animation workflows and industry best practices. Overseeing file and data management, ensuring proper organization of raw assets, project files, and final deliverables. Ensuring all output adheres to broadcast, theatrical, and exhibition delivery standards. Staying current with evolving tools, trends, formats, codecs, and archival best practices. Evaluating and recommending software, hardware, and pipeline improvements that enhance team productivity and content quality. Working with leadership to contribute to departmental budgeting, resource allocation, and infrastructure needs. Required qualifications include: 10+ years of professional post-production experience across commercial, narrative, branded, and artistic media. 5+ years of supervisory or lead editorial experience with demonstrated success managing creative teams. Strong background in cinematic storytelling, editorial pacing, and post-production strategy. Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop), DaVinci Resolve, AVID Media Composer, and DragonFrame. Knowledge of animation, compositing, VFX, color correction, and immersive media production. Deep understanding of file formats, codecs, audio sync, and archival practices. Familiarity with industry-standard workflows for broadcast, theatrical, and exhibition media. Excellent communication, delegation, and collaboration skills. Strong emotional intelligence and mentorship ability. Highly creative with an acute eye for visual detail and storytelling. Calm and effective under tight deadlines and high-pressure environments. Preferred qualifications include: On-set production experience. Color grading and finishing expertise. Pro Tools and audio mixing familiarity. Stop motion or 2D/3D animation experience. Drawing or illustration skills. Immersive/experiential media background. Work environment and physical demands include: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and scanners. This position also works in an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, strong visual effects including strobing lights, special effects, fog machines, and small and/or enclosed spaces. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical ability to walk, stand, take stairs/slides/elevators, and navigate the elements during the day and night. Employee may be required to remain in a sitting or standing position for prolonged periods, and repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
