The Diagnostic Assessment and Referral Team (DART) Educational Evaluator functions as a member of an exciting multidisciplinary team providing customized, comprehensive evaluations to youth with complex psychiatric, behavioral, cognitive, social emotional, and/or educational difficulties. They provide classroom observations and/or educational testing for youth around the state and participate in team meetings to determine supports necessary to improve youth functioning. Education And Experience/Qualifications
Certified special education teacher; experience working with children or adolescents with emotional, cognitive, learning, or developmental difficulties is required. Knowledge and familiarity with a variety of educational testing/assessment instruments and administration procedures is required. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Bilingual in Spanish is especially useful although not required. Location

Administers, scores, and accurately interprets standardized educational assessment measures according to established standards. Conducts and completes program specific written evaluations, including educational evaluation and/or classroom observations. Develops and documents, clear, integrated, comprehensive educational formulations and recommendations that are individualized based on evaluation results. Demonstrates knowledge of learning processes, learning disorders, instructional strategies, and interventions. Demonstrates knowledge of state special education laws and regulations. Makes recommendations in accordance with best practices and evidenced based practice models where appropriate and adheres to model and program expectations. Demonstrates knowledge of referral processes and resources. Communicates, orally and in writing, in a positive, effective manner with client, family, and all internal and external providers as needed. Functions as a strong and supportive team member who understands and embraces a multi-disciplinary team model. Attends any required meetings. Meets direct service productivity goals as defined by program. Demonstrates knowledge of program/department/agency goals and target outcomes, and adheres to practice standards and to data collection and reporting protocols. Attends and is prepared for scheduled supervision. Seeks additional supervision or consultation as needed and follows through with supervisory directives. Adheres to all agency and department policies and procedures (e.g., confidentiality, reports child abuse, safety & infection control, etc.) and displays excellent work habits (e.g., provides excellent service, attendance and promptness at work and meetings, timeliness in completing work). Interacts with youth and their families in a manner that is trauma-sensitive and relationally-based. Demonstrates sound judgment and decision-making by maintaining the ability to plan, organize, disseminate information, and analyze and resolve problems. Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served as well as uses appropriate methodological approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of culture.
