The System Administrator role involves providing IT systems administration in a mixed environment, managing virtualized systems, and collaborating with cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements. Responsibilities: Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux environment. Work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment. Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of basic to moderate scope and complexity, including hardware and OS integration. Participate in team collaboration. Manage virtualized environments. Have experience with Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods. Experience with hardware RAID, hardware and software encryption, and server management tools. Perform data backup and restore following industry best practices. Install and configure software applications requested by end users. Collaborate with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security standards. Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) within 6 months of start date. Systems operate 24x7 and may require work beyond standard hours. Travel up to 10% per year as needed within US locations. Qualifications: Required: Typically a University degree or equivalent experience, with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field. Active and transferable U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance prior to start. U.S. citizenship required. Experience with some of the following: Windows or Linux administration, backup, and recovery enterprise suite. Preferred: Experience deploying Windows workstations and migrating end-user data. Experience with cloning techniques. Knowledge of operating system concepts and implementations. Experience with Microsoft Windows Active Directory Services (user and computer object management, Group Policy). Experience supporting network services like DNS, DHCP in Windows environments.
