Computer Science Instructor Position

The Computer Science Department at the University Of Illinois Springfield (UIS) invites applications for a half-time non-tenure-track instructor position to begin January 2026. The UIS Computer Science Department offers innovative programs in computer science, information systems security, and data analytics. The department has been designated a National Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education, and prides itself on its small class sizes and distinguished faculty dedicated to research and teaching. The position involves on-campus and online development and delivery of core and elective undergraduate Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, and Software Engineering courses, with a 2/2 teaching load. Candidates must hold an MS in computer science or a closely related field and have experience teaching core and elective, on-campus and online computer science and cybersecurity courses. This is a half-time on-campus non-tenured academic appointment. UIS faculty are expected to be available and engaged in the university community to perform professional responsibilities as assigned. Teaching: The position involves on-campus and online development and delivery of core and elective undergraduate Computer Science and Cybersecurity courses. Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must hold an MS in computer science or a closely related field and have experience teaching core and elective, on-campus and online computer science and cybersecurity courses.
