Facilities Lead Worker

As a Facilities Lead Worker at MercyOne, you will under direction of the Supervisor provide leadership for the Facilities department. The lead worker coordinates scheduling, provides training and support for department and assists with coordination of colleagues between job sites. Evaluates and performs a variety of functions in the maintenance, repair and upkeep of the physical plant, grounds, and equipment. Supports, facilitates, and participates in the elder-focused social model of care. Conducts safety test on electrical equipment not covered by Clinical Engineering Utilizes skills in a specialized area of expertise or in general knowledge of several areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting mechanics, heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning. Monitors hospital levels of temperature, humidity, steam pressure, and other critical check points and makes adjustments to correct abnormal conditions. Repairs normal hospital equipment such as tables, chairs, and other items used for patient care. Assist with maintenance of grounds. Assist with and/or performs all fire drills, generator testing, fire inspections and testing and records findings. Schedule: Monday
Friday days; on/call schedule General Requirements: Three years of experience in a specialized trade such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC or millwright is required to complete the minimum job requirements. Requires training time of approximately two years. Journeyman status through appropriate apprentice-ship program and/or trade or vocational school graduate and/or 3-5 years on-the-job experience performing in a skilled craft. Must complete and maintain up to date certification in specialized trade. Will work with Manager on amount of CEU's. Must be able to maintain, repair and replace existing utility systems and write up material specifications for projects. Must have valid Driver's License. Must be able to work with limited supervision. Education: High School diploma or GED required.
