Operator
The Operator performs a combination of duties involving general plant maintenance and operation of mobile equipment. This includes properly loading Ready Mix trucks and interacting with Ready Mix drivers and plant personnel. The Operator is responsible for operating equipment commonly found necessary for the proper maintenance of a ready-mix plant. Medical, Dental, Vision with low-cost premiums even for family coverage Company-paid life/AD&D insurance Company-paid short-term disability Paid sick/vacation/holiday 401k/Company Funded Pension Program (program is dependent upon location and job type) Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Additional voluntary benefits Responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving maintenance problems to ensure efficient operations, loading ready mix trucks with concrete and guiding drivers through the plant, batch quality concrete within specifications, completing daily service requirements of the plant, operating front-end loaders and forklifts, performing general maintenance of water pumps, conveyor belts, and other plant equipment, maintaining inventory of raw materials, parts, and tools, monitoring KPIs for dispatch, effectively communicating with customers and other departments of the company, staying well-informed on Quality Control demands on concrete, demonstrating safe and efficient operation of equipment while completing assigned tasks, performing pre-operational/post-operational checks of equipment, operating a range of loaders, performing work area examinations to ensure a safe work environment, complying with company policies, procedures and work rules, as well as federal safety, health, and environmental regulations, performing plant maintenance activities as directed, and working may extend to include general labor duties such as shoveling and sweeping. Education: High school diploma/GED Requirements/Qualifications include experience with maintenance, operations, loaders and forklifts, must provide basic tools such as wrenches, hammers, welding hood, and gloves, experience in metal cutting and fabrication, and ability to perform general maintenance on pumps and plant equipment, knowledgeable in the operation and equipment used in a ready-mix plant, versed in Batch Panel software, intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite, knowledgeable in MSHA and OSHA rules and regulations, knowledge of pH, TSS, TDS, and Turbidity limits to meet the Department of Ecology standards, able to work in various extreme weather conditions, may be required to work varying start/stop times and extended hours, experience operating loaders, man lifts, and forklifts, experience operating equipment outside in all weather conditions, ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision, physical requirements: able to lift/move up to 100 lbs., climb up to 24 feet, walk, bend and crouch. Preferred: Strong computer skills, any maintenance-related certifications, commercial driver's license. Conditions of Employment: Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registration/clearance as well as ongoing alcohol and drug testing.
