Technical Program Manager

BAE Systems is seeking an experienced engineering Technical Program Manager to join the M109 System Technical Support team to manage a critical development effort that is key to maintaining the relevance of the M109 Howitzer in the fleet for the future. You will manage the effort of an innovative problem solving team charged with redesigning major vetronics components and software on the platform. As you may have heard in the news, the M109 Howitzer is a key piece of Military equipment being brought to bear in Ukraine against the Russian invasion of their territory. You will have also heard how robust and effective the system is under combat conditions. The candidate we seek will help enhance the system to make it even more reliable, producible, and effective. As a Technical Program Manager, you will: Coordinate project activities, deliverables, and action items Prepare project execution plans and help identify technical and business resource needs Develop or assist with development of project cost estimates and proposals Review statements of work / scope to ensure they are adequately defined and executable Proactively and collaboratively support the project team through scope review, investigation, and guidance Execute processes and procedures to meet management and project requirements Review performance to include budget and schedule; review/prepare status reports Monitor effort to ensure schedule and budget are maintained in accordance to plan Work with risk managers to ensure risks and opportunities are properly captured, appropriate risk mitigation activities are identified, and risk mitigation is effective and risk mitigation activities are part of the project plan / schedule Support the development and communication of program metrics Maintain and promote excellent customer relationships / communication Required Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelors Degree (Engineering, Finance, Business, or related field) in a related concentration and 8+ years of experience Experience with project planning, execution, monitoring, and controlling processes Ability to manage and report project schedule and budget status Ability to represent the team and deliver status reports to internal and external leadership Proficient utilizing Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and MS Project) Ability to prioritize and multitask Ability to work with general direction and make sound decisions based on available data Adapt to high volume workload Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Master Degree and 6+ years of experience A certification in Project Management from an industry-recognized organization such as the Project Management Institute (PMI), Project Management Professional (PMP), and/or Program Management Professional (PgMP) Familiarity with Deltek project management tools: Open Plan, PM Compass Earned Value Management experience Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $118504 - $201457 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
