Position Overview As the Director of Geomatics, you will lead and expand True Environmental's geomatics and hydrographic surveying capabilities, ensuring the highest levels of precision and efficiency in data collection, analysis, and visualization. You will leverage cutting-edge technology, including aerial and underwater surveying, digital photogrammetry, BIM/Revit integration, and mobile LiDAR, to support environmental impact assessments, coastal and marine mapping, infrastructure development, and regulatory compliance projects. What You'll Get to Do: Develop and execute a strategic vision for True Environmental's geomatics, bathymetric, and hydrographic surveying services. Lead and mentor a team of GIS specialists, surveyors, and remote sensing experts in executing complex geospatial projects. Oversee the collection, processing, and analysis of geospatial data using: Single-beam, multibeam, and side-scan sonar for hydrographic and bathymetric mapping. Aerial and mobile LiDAR, point clouds, and photogrammetry for environmental and infrastructure applications. Revit/BIM workflows to integrate geospatial data with engineering and architectural models. Pix4D, Recap, and other digital photogrammetry tools to generate high-resolution terrain models. Ensure the accuracy and efficiency of spatial data management, point cloud processing, and 3D visualization. Collaborate with environmental scientists, engineers, and project managers to integrate geomatics, hydrographic data, and remote sensing into environmental assessments and regulatory compliance. Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies in GIS, UAV, remote sensing, and hydrographic surveying to enhance service offerings. Develop proposals, manage budgets, and foster strong client relationships. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for land surveying, hydrography, and environmental mapping. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Hydrography, GIS, Environmental Science, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in geomatics, hydrographic surveying, GIS, or remote sensing. 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams and projects. Expertise in hydrographic surveying techniques (e.g., single-beam and multibeam sonar, side-scan sonar, and bathymetric LiDAR). Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS), photogrammetry (Pix4D, Recap), and point cloud processing. Strong background in mobile and aerial LiDAR, digital twin modeling, and 3D mapping technologies. Experience with BIM/Revit workflows for geospatial data integration. Project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, and team coordination. Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Understanding of environmental regulations and permitting processes. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Geomatics, Hydrography, GIS, Environmental Science, or a related field. Professional certifications: PLS (Professional Land Surveyor), GISP (GIS Professional), Certified Hydrographer, or similar. Experience working on environmental, coastal, marine, and infrastructure projects. Strong background in data visualization, predictive modeling, and AI applications in geomatics.
