You will lead the design and integration of machinery controls and electrical systems to support NSWCPD mission objectives. You will apply advanced engineering knowledge to develop and manage innovative solutions, adapting methods to resolve complex technical and administrative challenges. You will coordinate with diverse teams, including supervisors, engineers, and contractors, to plan and execute projects, ensuring alignment with Navy technology goals. You will evaluate program risks using Risk Management Principles, proposing mitigation strategies and managing budgets to advance state-of-the-art technology initiatives. You will interpret facility electric one-line drawings, troubleshoot equipment, and perform lockout-tagout procedures to ensure safe and effective system operations. You will conduct special studies and analyses to provide technical expertise, developing requirement documents and verification matrices to support project success. Requirements
Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Serving as a Systems Controls Engineer, with expertise in interfacing control protocols with equipment under test and HMI, innovatively designing, configuring, monitoring, and enhancing protective features, while troubleshooting electrical/mechanical equipment and managing fiber optic network connections, adapting existing methods to address moderately complex technical challenges. Interpreting facility electric one-line drawings and safely performing lockout-tagout procedures, resolving operational issues with sound engineering judgement. Leading teams, delegating responsibilities, and managing workload to meet project goals, applying systems engineering principles to develop functional requirement documents and verification cross-reference matrices (VCRM), and balancing engineering and management requirements. Applying Risk Management Principles to evaluate program risks and propose mitigation strategies, while developing and managing budgets for engineering projects, incorporating anticipated technological trends to support advanced technology initiatives.
