Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Speech Pathologist, full time - temporary. In this role, the successful candidate provides speech-language pathology services under supervision, and any other duties deemed necessary by the Department Head. Job Responsibilities: Guides, informs, counsels and provides training to patient/family. Interprets assessment findings and provides information to patient and family in a timely fashion. Effectively assesses patients communication function and abilities. Screens patient for identification of SLP assessment needs and assigns accurate FIM or WEE FIM ratings. Develops, evaluates and plans speech-language pathology treatment programs. Amends treatment plans according to changing communication needs and requirements. Conducts group and individual therapy sessions. Implements plan in individual/group sessions appropriately. Acts as representative of SLP department at interdisciplinary team conference. Provides concise relevant reports regarding evaluation findings and progress to physician and team. Documents treatments rendered in accordance with departmental protocol. Maintains clinical documentation according to Departmental P&P manual. Participates in implementing the Health Career Opportunity Program and in training externs in Speech-Language Pathology Department. Responsible for special duties necessary for ongoing operation of department. Carries out assignment as described in P&P manual in a timely fashion. Demonstrates continued proficiency in skills required to treat assigned patient population. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have a MA/MS degree in Speech-Language Pathology; CCC-SLP from ASHA and NY State license in Speech Pathology. Three years prior experience as a Speech Therapist required. BLS certification (Issued by the American Heart Association-AHA) OR Heartsaver CPR/AED certification (Issued by the American Heart Association-AHA) is required upon entry to the position.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $104,572.15 - $118,558.44 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
