Webster Bank Sponsor Finance provides senior secured commercial loans to middle-market companies, typically backed by private equity capital. Our loans are used by clients to facilitate acquisitions, fund working capital, finance growth/capital expenditures, and restructurings. This position will focus on general commercial industries, but the Sponsor Finance team also has dedicated specialty lending verticals that cover healthcare, technology & infrastructure, and aerospace & defense. We are headquartered in Boston, MA, and have offices in Stamford, CT, and New York, NY. Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include: (i) spearheading the due diligence process for new cash flow transactions, inclusive of financial due diligence and leading diligence calls, (ii) preparing pre-screen memos and credit approval documents for presentation to credit committee, (iii) preparing and/or reviewing financial models, (iv) organizing and managing the closing process on new transactions, and (v) management and ongoing monitoring of portfolio accounts. Throughout this process, the Associate will have the opportunity to interact with multiple stakeholders including senior origination officers, deal underwriters, senior credit officers, capital markets professionals, private equity sponsors, company management, as well as legal counsel and operations personnel. Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, or equivalent work experience. 2-4 years of experience in leveraged finance at a commercial bank, investment bank, or finance company with strong commercial credit experience. Superior written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical skills and proficiency with financial statement modeling. Experience underwriting middle market cash flow transactions. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision. Graduate of a formalized credit training program is preferred. The estimated salary range for this position is $110,000 USD to $140,000 USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
