Employment Type: Full Time Department: Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Hours/Pay Period: 72 The posted compensation range of $45.75 - $77.27 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law. As an VMFH ICU Nurse in our Level 1 Stroke and Cardiac Center, you'll monitor the highest acuity level of patients following extensive injury, surgery, or life-threatening disease. Overall responsibilities in our 28-bed Intensive Care Unit: Manage complex patients requiring open heart & neurological surgery, neuro and cardiac interventional treatments, vascular, pulmonary, GI, GU, ventilator support, mechanical circulatory support, such as IABP, Impella & ECMO, CRRT, and other devices as necessary. Assesses, plans, and implements nursing care while ensuring patient comfort - Anticipates, identifies, and responds to informational and emotional needs of patients and families
Guides and directs healthcare personnel (i.e. Patient Care Technicians) in caring for patients - Maintains knowledge of equipment setup, maintenance, and use (i.e. IV pumps, monitoring equipment, and drainage devices) Utilizes safeguards such as IV pump drug library and monitor alarms with necessary - Initiates emergency support measures (i.e. cardiopulmonary resuscitation, protecting patient from injury. You'll begin each shift with a brief 5-minute team huddle, receive report from the off-going shift. You'll provide continued care and perform procedures as detailed in the care plan. This could mean assisting a physician with a chest tube or central line, providing wound care, ensuring patients MRI or CT, or administering medications. To thrive in this role, you'll heavily depend on your ability to multitask and react quickly to various situations. You'll clinically care for your patients- remaining focused and attentive as you continuously monitor your patients throughout your shift. You also serve as their advocate- supporting their best interests when they cannot. However, it's your sound judgment during critical moments that will ensure your success. Current WA State RN license required. Two (2) or more years of recent Critical Care experience preferred. EKG Monitor Validation & ACLS will be required within 90 days of hire. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements. Additional Preferred Qualifications: Open Heart experience; Interventional Cardiology experience and device experience; and CCRN.
