Per-Diem Cook For Dietary And Food Services

Come join our team and love what you do! We are currently hiring a Per-Diem Cook for Dietary and Food Services at Fremont Hospital! The Cook provides support critical to the successful operation of the hospital and is responsible for the preparation and service of breakfast, lunch, and dinner for patients and facility staff according to the approved diet manual and production sheets. Functions include general oversight to the successful and safe operation of the kitchen and its staff for timely execution of meals. The kitchen also provides on-unit snacks and maintains par levels. Proper safe food handling and kitchen safety protocols must be always followed and monitored for compliance by other staff. Fremont Hospital is a fully accredited, 148-bed private inpatient psychiatric hospital providing quality care for children through adults. The facility provides a full assortment of care which includes assessments, inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, partial-hospitalization, intensive outpatient psychiatric treatment as well as chemical dependency outpatient care. Qualifications Education/Experience: Must have at least two (2) years experience in quantity cooking, a basic knowledge of modified diets. Training in food service, safe food handling, and sanitation. Experience utilizing industrial kitchen equipment and utensils. Some prior kitchen supervisory experience helpful. Additional Requirements: May be required to obtain ServSafe certification. May be required to successfully complete the Fremont Hospital's non-violent Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training course within 90 days of employment and prior to assisting with preventative intervention measures. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Ability to stand up to 8 hours at a time. Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and to push and pull up to 50 pounds.
