Director Of Residential Services
The Director Of Residential Services provides strategic and operational leadership for the agencys Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF) and/or Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRAs) serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role oversees all residential and administrative functions to ensure high quality, person-centered care, regulatory compliance, and efficient program operations. The Director Of Residential Services supervises a team that includes Assistant Director(s), Sr. Residence Manager(s), Residence Managers, and works in collaboration with the Residential Coordinator to promote accountability, staff development, and continuous improvement. As a key member of the leadership team, the Director partners with clinical, medical, quality assurance, and facilities departments to ensure integrated service delivery. The Director also serves as a primary liaison to families, guardians, and oversight agencies, maintaining a strong focus on outcomes and resident well-being. Key Essential Functions: Program Overnight & Services Delivery Staff Supervision & Team Management Interdisciplinary Collaboration Compliance, Reporting & Quality Assurance Stakeholder Engagement & Crisis Response Educational/Qualifications: Bachelors degree in psychology, human services, social services or related field and 10 years of experience in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, and 5 years in a supervisory and/or managerial/operational role. OR Masters degree in psychology, human services, social services or related field with 3 years of experience in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, and 2 years of experience in a supervisory and/or managerial/operational role. Knowledge of Department Of Health (DOH) and/or OPWDD regulatory requirements is required. Knowledge of SCIP-R, CPR and/or AMAP preferred. Familiarity with Orthodox Jewish practices preferred; commitment to learn required. Core Competencies: Ability to effectively supervise, support, coach and train staff. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in exercising good judgement and problem solving against multiple priorities. Ability to analyze problems and determine corrective measures. Ability to develop positive working relationships and collaborate across all departments. Computer skills required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); comfortable and proficient using audio video platforms (i.e., Zoom, Teams), Electronic Health Record (HER) applications. The knowledge or ability to learn software programs and use of data and trends to inform clinical practice. Work Environment Physical Effort: The position entails lifting clients using a mechanical device, positioning clients, pushing clients in wheelchairs and transferring clients physically where prescribed. Ability to travel daily to and walk around program sites, including stairs. Ability to sit at a computer for up to 75% of the day, at times.
