Job Title: Senior Python Developer
Location:
Houston, TX (Onsite) Description: We are seeking a Senior Python Developer to join a dynamic team in Houston. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently with minimal supervision and bring a strong technical background in software development, beyond just scripting. This is a leadership-focused role, requiring experience in architectural design, mentoring, and stakeholder engagement. Key Responsibilities: Lead and execute development efforts for Python-based applications and services Design and implement solutions using distributed asynchronous systems to avoid data conflicts in immutable environments orchestrated across multiple machines Mentor junior developers, providing technical guidance and fostering a collaborative team environment Collaborate with stakeholders to define system requirements and ensure alignment with business goals Optimize software performance and reliability, focusing on scalability and cloud-native solutions Work with a modern tech stack including Kubernetes (via Docker), Kafka, Azure, and GitHub Contribute to architectural decisions and improvements in the overall system design Required Skills and Experience: Mastery in Python development (beyond scripting) and software construction Strong experience in multiprocessing and cloud-native development Deep understanding of distributed asynchronous systems and architectural design Experience working in Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, Azure, and GitHub Proven ability to design solutions that avoid data conflicts in distributed systems Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills Experience in mentoring and guiding junior team members Adaptability to evolving technologies and a focus on delivering business value Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the energy sector is a plus, but not mandatory A financial background is beneficial, but not required Additional Information: The role will start at the end of Q3. Candidates must be located or willing to relocate to Houston, TX for an onsite position.
