Staff Accountant

The day-to-day focus of the Staff Accountant position will be to provide accounting and financial support companywide. This includes understanding and managing certain general ledger accounts, detail analysis and presentation of financial data, preparation and recording of journal entries, preparation and review of monthly account reconciliations, and other similar activities or ad hoc requests. This position must be an accountant who is eager to learn and contribute towards continuous improvement within the shared services model. Assist with month-end close processes, record journal entries and provide appropriate detail level review and analysis Prepare monthly account reconciliations as assigned Perform monthly financial variance analysis, including research, documentation and communication of account fluctuations Take ownership of assigned GL accounts and ensure accuracy, understanding, and consistency of application and compliance with GAAP Assist with preparation of audit schedules and responding to audit requests Establish productive relationships within finance and other departments Maintain financial records in compliance with corporate policies and procedures Act as business partner with management to provide recommendations to improve month end processes, financial controls, forecasting and general analytics Analyze current processes and make recommendations for process improvement Other duties as assigned Bachelor's Degree with an Accounting concentration 1+ years of experience in General Ledger accounting and external audit experience Excellent verbal & written communication skills Ability to audit, review and advise on standards and adjustment made to ensure quality financials Strong organization skills Able to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks; has flexible with the ability to multi-task Demonstrates high level of customer service and professionalism in reacting well under pressure High level of attention to detail and analytical skills SAP experience preferred Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
