CNC Machinist

3rd Shift: 9:30pm

6:30am ($2.50 shift premium) Purpose of Role: CNC Machinists are responsible for set up and adjustments to a variety of machines (e.g., drill press, engine lathe, CNC lathe) to produce precision parts such as volutes, valve bodies, and impellers. The CNC Machinist will diagnose and correct machine or tooling malfunctions, perform troubleshooting, minor program edits, and implement efficiency improvements. Having a technical understanding (70% lathe machining, 30% mill machining) to work from complex blueprints, part drawings, and specifications is required. Key Responsibilities: Diagnose machine or tooling malfunction and make the proper and corrective adjustments. Perform troubleshooting or minor program edits, efficiency improvements etc. Setups involve the changing of the machine chucks, collets, face plates, tool feed rates, grind, shear, etc. Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture. Technical Understanding: 70 % Lathe machining, 30% Mill machining for parts and fabrication projects Work from complex blueprints, part drawings, specifications, setup instructions etc. Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: GED or High School Diploma required 3+ years of experience as a CNC Machinist preferred (set up/operator) Assembly or casting experience an asset Experience working with Fanuc controls is a plus, but not required.
