The
Banquet Houseperson
is responsible for assisting the banquet team in the setup, breakdown, and maintenance of meeting rooms and event spaces. This role ensures that all banquet areas are properly arranged according to event specifications, contributing to a successful and memorable experience for guests. Event Setup & Breakdown: Set up banquet rooms and function areas with tables, chairs, linens, and other equipment as specified by the banquet event order. Break down and reset rooms following events, returning equipment to proper storage areas. Assist with loading/unloading of event equipment and supplies. Cleanliness & Organization: Maintain cleanliness and order of all banquet storage areas and function spaces. Ensure all equipment is clean, functioning, and properly stored. Remove trash, sweep floors, and clean up spills during and after events as needed. Guest Service & Team Support: Assist banquet servers and staff with room refreshes or last-minute setup changes. Respond to guest and event planner requests with promptness and professionalism. Coordinate with other departments to ensure event readiness. What You Bring: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in banquet or event services is a plus. Strong attention to detail and time management skills. Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and furniture. Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. Availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays. Working Conditions & Physical Effort: This position requires significant physical activity, including prolonged standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, lifting (up to 75 lbs), and moving heavy items. Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor event spaces, with potential exposure to noise, temperature changes, and busy environments. Safety precautions and use of appropriate protective gear are essential.
