The Lead Vizient Data Analyst plays a critical role in transforming complex healthcare data into meaningful insights that drive strategic decision-making and performance improvement across UI Health Care. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and usability of Vizient Clinical Data Base (CDB) data, and for delivering comprehensive analyses that highlight both opportunities and successes.
This role leads the development of data-driven insights that inform executive leadership, clinical departments, and operational teams. The Lead Vizient Data Analyst will guide the analytics team in producing high-impact reports and dashboards and will collaborate across departments to ensure insights are translated into measurable action.
This position is eligible for remote work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the remote work program and related policies andemployee travel policy when working at a remote location.
Position Responsibilities
Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of Vizient data submissions and outputs.
Conduct in-depth analyses to identify performance trends, benchmark comparisons, and improvement opportunities.
Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for clinical and operational leaders.
Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and reports that support strategic Vizient initiatives.
Lead and mentor team members in best practices for healthcare analytics and data storytelling.
Collaborate with leadership to prioritize focus areas and track progress on improvement initiatives.
Serve as a subject matter expert on Vizient data methodologies and performance metrics.

Regular Education Required Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Required Qualifications Advanced analytical skills necessary for the evaluation of complex data sets Typically, 5-7 years of reporting experience OR Strong experience in SQL with the ability to write complex queries and performance tune. Proven track record of researching, organizing, analyzing, and synthesizing data to support effective decision making. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to define system requirements and understand business reporting outcome. Demonstrated organizational and project management skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently, as well as cooperatively with others. Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong customer service skills Knowledge of data warehouse fundamentals Desirable Qualifications: Experience working in a healthcare delivery setting with clinical, operational, or financial reporting experience. Proficient working knowledge of healthcare delivery/operational workflows and terminology Epic certifications(s) or experience related but not limited to the following: Cogito Fundamentals, Cogito Tools Administration, Caboodle Data Model, Clarity Data Model, etc. Advanced knowledge of analytics and business intelligence platforms (Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Qlik or other similar tools.) Experience working with vendors to define system requirements, integration strategies, and implement interfaces. Experience working with technical and non-technical staff to refine and manipulate data. Experience providing education, support, and training of new staff members and customers.
