Staff Accountant
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This role will be responsible for a range of accounting tasks and will own the Accounts Payable (AP) process while also developing and maintaining GAAP-compliant accounting processes. This role is an exciting opportunity to enhance your accounting skills in a collaborative and growth-focused environment and will have the exposure to learn the different elements of the business while contributing to key financial operations that drive the business success. Key Responsibilities: Own and manage the end-to-end Accounts Payable (AP) process, including invoice processing, approvals, payment scheduling, vendor setup, and issue resolution. Process, reconcile, and record corporate credit card transactions, ensuring timely coding, documentation, and policy compliance. Create, document, and maintain GAAP-compliant accounting procedures, ensuring consistent application across the finance function. Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are accurately recorded. Reconcile general ledger accounts, including accounts payable, accrued expenses, bank accounts, and credit card accounts. Support month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals, variance analysis, and reporting. Maintain and track fixed assets, prepaids, and other schedules. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and internal/external reports. Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure proper coding and approval of expenses. Support initiatives to streamline accounting operations and strengthen internal controls. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation as necessary. Participate in special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as assigned by management. Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards (GAAP) and company policies. Required Qualifications and Key Competencies: 24 years of accounting experience, including hands-on AP management and process documentation. Solid knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience with NetSuite and proficient with Microsoft Excel. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for vendor and internal collaboration. Preferred Skills: Resourcefulness: the ability to find quick and creative ways to overcome difficulties. Accountability: the ability to own and manage tasks.
