Position Summary
Austin Oaks Hospital is currently hiring a Transportation Van Driver to provide transportation services for patients attending outpatient programs at our Central and South locations. Duties include ensuring safe and timely transportation; milieu management and crisis intervention. Patients served include adolescents and adults. Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge And Abilities: Ability to consistently fulfill responsibilities and complete assignments. Knowledge of patient rights. Knowledge of Texas driving laws. Skill in developing and maintaining therapeutic relationships with patients and cooperative / effective relationships with other staff. Ability to read and write legibly. Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers, patients and administration. Patience and tact necessary for contact with patients. Education: Required: High School Diploma or GED Preferred: Minimum of one year of college Licensure / Certification: Current CPR or ability to pass CPR training during initial employment period. Valid Texas Driver's License Experience: Required: None required. Preferred: One year driver experience for hospital or psychiatric services. Physical Requirements: Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients. Manual and finger dexterity. Hand-eye coordination. Ability to lift, carry, and/or lower items weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Ability to stand and walk 6+ hours per day, frequent bending, stooping and reaching to check or move equipment. Hearing and vision sufficient to perform essential functions.
