Portfolio Strategist

The Portfolio Strategist will play a key role on the Portfolio Strategy & Research team, reporting directly to the Head of Portfolio Strategy. This role is focused on developing investment insights across asset classes, supporting the communication of CIO house views, and producing actionable research and portfolio recommendations for advisors and clients. The ideal candidate will have direct investment experience across asset classes, a strong foundation in macroeconomics, and an understanding of portfolio construction and risk. The role requires intellectual curiosity, a collaborative mindset, and comfort working across functional teams in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. Key Responsibilities: Contribute to investment research, the development and communication of asset allocation views, investment themes, and capital market assumptions Support the translation of macroeconomic and market insights into portfolio implications and investment recommendations Develop and maintain financial models and tools to evaluate portfolio positioning and strategy performance Partner with senior strategists and investment leadership to produce client-ready materials that are clear, differentiated, and actionable Monitor and interpret macroeconomic data, market trends, and portfolio risks; proactively suggest research areas and themes Assist in the creation of thematic portfolios for specific client segments or geographies Maintain high research standards and ensure analytical output is rigorous, well-documented, and up to date Contribute to internal discussions on optimizing team workflows, tools, and research processes Qualifications: A minimum of 58 years of experience in investment research, portfolio construction, or portfolio management, preferably in a multi-asset platform, or institutional setting Demonstrated understanding of asset allocation theory, macroeconomics, and capital markets across asset classes Proficiency with market data platforms (Bloomberg, FactSet, DataStream) and strong Excel and PowerPoint skills required; experience with programming tools (Python, ideally) and data visualization (Tableau) a plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience preparing materials for internal and external stakeholders Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and intellectual curiosity Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a global team environment Bachelor's degree required; master's degree or CFA designation preferred Preferred Characteristics: A team player who values mentorship, intellectual exchange, and excellence in process and execution Thoughtful and creative problem solver who combines analytical rigor with commercial awareness Ability to simplify complexity and translate data into insights and actions Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment
