Sr. Medical Laboratory Technician rates range from $22.82/hr to $33.09/hr. Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) rates range from $26.97/hr to $35.51/hr. Sr. Medical Laboratory Scientist rates range from $28.86/hr to $40.43/hr. In this role, there is the opportunity to: Process specimens for analysis following established protocols for precision, accuracy, and timeliness. Identify and follow up on critical, abnormal, and unacceptable test results according to predefined procedures. Troubleshoot problems with instrumentation, methodology, specimens, supplies, or results, and implement solutions based on predetermined protocols. Participate in test development, methodology evaluation, and equipment selection and implementation. Perform and document quality control procedures in compliance with established guidelines. Inform supervisors or pathologists promptly of any incidents or issues encountered. Operate, maintain, and perform minor repairs on laboratory equipment. Enter patient demographic and test information accurately into the laboratory information system. Uphold patient confidentiality in accordance with regulatory and ethical standards. Monitor and maintain laboratory supplies, ensuring availability and proper storage. Title and starting pay rate of this position may vary based on experience and education. Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university AND successful completion of a CAHEA accredited Medical Lab Scientist program OR Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university with a major in biological, chemical, or clinical laboratory science AND ASCP or equivalent categorical or MLT certification OR Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university with a major in biological, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science AND at least two years' experience in a role equivalent to that of a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) in a clinical laboratory. Associate's degree in a laboratory science with certification (or eligible new graduate) from an accredited institution as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) OR Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution with a major in biological, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science, with 6 months of clinical laboratory experience OR Equivalent education and experience as defined by CLIA '88 for individuals performing high complexity testing Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
