About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, advanced level Project Manager that has industrial engineer-type skills to support a multitude of complex processes to deliver a best-in-class experience for our customer base. You will be responsible for providing in-depth analysis and solutions to drive capacity, quality, and on-time delivery performance on omni-channel order fulfillment. You will also use your skills to identify, scope and present fulfillment improvement opportunities that incorporate process, system, and equipment solutions. Unlike a traditional project manager, we need someone who understands and can define, communicate, and track tasks, AND is also able to execute some of those tasks, perform tests, and be the owner of those tasks. Are you a hands-on Project Manager that loves pairing data with system/process improvements? Are you well-versed in automation technologies that support lean manufacturing strategies? If so, we want to hear from you. This position reports to the (Operations) Group Product Manager and is based onsite from our Belton, MO distribution center. What You'll Be Doing: Automation and Systems Integration: Utilize existing systems to identify and automate manual processes. Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate and optimize system functionalities. Develop and implement automation strategies to enhance operational efficiency. Process Improvement: Partner with the Industrial Engineering team to identify and implement process improvements. Conduct thorough analysis of current operations to pinpoint areas for enhancement. Design and implement process improvement initiatives that align with best practices and industry standards. Technology Development and Implementation: Research and evaluate new technologies that can drive efficiencies and reduce operational complexity. Lead projects to implement new technologies and ensure successful adoption. Monitor the performance of new technologies and processes, making adjustments as necessary to achieve desired outcomes. Assist the team in monitoring, maintaining, and suggesting improvements of our WMS and WCS Create functional/ technical specifications to design / redesign WM processes/systems Create Test case documents and execute different scenarios to fulfill orders (Subscription, ecommerce) Verify program logic by overseeing the preparation of test data, testing, and debugging of programs Operational Efficiency: Collect, analyze and report data that is tied to performance KPI's that support key automation initiatives Partner with 3PL to identify process gaps and support corrective actions Support ever-growing order complexity as it pertains to order fulfillment, packaging, inventory management, and quality Develop and implement strategies to reduce operating costs while maintaining high standards of quality and service. Create and maintain metrics to track the efficiency and effectiveness of operational processes. Continuously seek opportunities to streamline operations and improve overall efficiency. Support Business Growth: Assist in the development and maturation of future business verticals, ensuring they are scalable and efficient. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new business initiatives and projects. Ensure all new initiatives meet SLA, quality, and cost expectations. Stakeholder Management: Communicate project goals, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders at all levels. Foster strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, and vendors. Ensure alignment between project objectives and business goals. Quality and Compliance: Ensure all processes and technologies adhere to quality standards and regulatory requirements. Implement and monitor quality control measures to maintain high standards of fulfillment operations. What We Are Looking For: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Must have 5+ years of experience in fulfillment operations or a project management role related to fulfillment operations. Knowledge of fulfillment operations, supply chain management, and logistics. Proven experience in process improvement, automation, and the implementation of new technologies. Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive decision-making. WMS, WCS, WES, ERP/MES knowledge Excellent project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading complex projects. Proficiency in using project management software and other relevant tools. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with lean methodologies that support strategic processes for: Material replenishment One-piece flow Layout optimization Automation Must be proficient-to-advanced in Excel/Tableau or similar applications Bonus if You Have: Advanced analytic skills, database and query experience. Experience in advanced automation systems, such as robotics, RFID, packaging systems, etc. Small parcel logistics experience. Lean certifications.
