Job Classification
Responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs and operations of water production sites, water distribution lines, wastewater treatment facilities or collections systems. This is an entry level maintenance and operations classification in the Water Resources job family where basic tasks and assignments requiring little or no previous training or experience are performed. This is the first classification in a career progression or the terminal level for positions with very basic and/or limited duties. Work is designed to provide initial experience and training under direct supervision. Essential Duties
The following are intended to describe core work functions of this classification. While the level and broad nature of essential duties may not change, specific work tasks will vary over time depending on the Town's needs. Read and log water and electric meters. Perform utility locates. Samples/monitors water and wastewater using specialized equipment. Performs utility work orders and routine water line repairs and maintenance; plumbing work; installs and repairs water and sewer lines; installs, maintains and repairs water meters and hydrants. Performs daily facility inspections of well sites, water production sites, wastewater treatment facilities, and collection systems. Operates wastewater treatment and sludge processing disposal equipment. Operates a variety of equipment including; pumps, motors, chlorinators, meters, air compressors, blowers, valves and gates. Operates a variety of trucks and heavy equipment in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures. Performs construction, maintenance and manual labor; duties will vary according to job assignment. Completes required daily documentation, logs and reports. Must be available for emergency on call rotation. Performs field tests for physical or chemical parameters. Picks up and delivers materials as directed. Performs related work as assigned. Knowledge

Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of directly related education and experience. Required Certifications/Licenses: Valid Arizona Class B Driver's License Required to Obtain within Specified Period of Time: Valid Arizona Class B Commercial Driver's License with Tanker Endorsement CPR and First Aid Certifications OSHA 10 Certification If assigned to Water: ADEQ Grade I Water Distribution and/or Water Treatment within one year of hire If assigned to Wastewater: ADEQ Grade I Wastewater Collection and/or Wastewater treatment within one year of hire
