General Maintenance Worker II
Under general supervision, General Maintenance Worker II performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring advanced knowledge and skill in two trades and practical knowledge in multiple trades such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. This position applies advanced knowledge to resolve complex problems and may provide technical guidance to lower-level workers. Duties/Responsibilities: Replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures and motors. Using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings Repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets Painting structures and equipment Repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks Replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles Hanging doors and installing door locks Replacing broken windowpanes Performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery Performs maintenance and repair tasks requiring advanced skill and knowledge in multiple trades specialties. When required, check the work of lower-level workers for accuracy and compliance with standards and provide technical guidance and instruction. When required, lead a team of lower-level workers in project assignments and monitor for quality of work and timely completion Responds to customer inquiries and requests and escalates matters as appropriate Frequent travel between facilities Performs other duties and special projects as assigned Minimum Requirements: High school diploma, GED, or trade school coursework preferred Must maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record while in this position. Minimum of five (5) years of work experience in general maintenance and more advanced Electrical trades work preferred, performing repair and maintenance on equipment and facilities in a commercial, industrial or large facilities environment. Ability to manage material resources and time, and to work safely. Communication skills to provide procedural and information, and to follow written and oral instructions. Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities, and to build effective working relationships with staff, customers and lower-level workers. Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving and common-sense skills. Ability to work independently as well as lead a team. Job Type:
