Job Title: SIC Shipping and Receiving Supervisor/FT (GE WILM) Job Summary: Southern Industrial Constructors seeks a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor for an on-going site in the Wilmington, NC area - the site has access to customer cafeteria and food services and is in a controlled environment. This role is for an on-going assignment. Hired candidates will be considered for Benefits/Paid Time Off after 3-months. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinate and supervise activities of workers to effectively and efficiently manage shipping and receiving, material handling, and inventory control. Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations. Detect, recognize, and respond appropriately to dangerous conditions or situations. Analyze and resolve work problems. Establish and adjust work sequences to meet schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel. Maintain accurate employee time records and input daily as required. Perform frequent safety inspections of work areas, TSP's, equipment, tools, and employees in accordance with SIC policy to ensure compliance with government regulations, customer requirements, and SIC's safety program. Lead or facilitate weekly Toolbox Safety Meetings with crew. Complete all Safety, Supervisor, and general job training as required by SIC. Effectively manage shipping personnel to maximize productivity and efficiency. Audit shipping operations to ensure personnel are following safety and operations procedures properly and effectively. Perform other duties as required. Work directly with GE Shipping Managers to prioritize weekly parts schedule. Experience: Forklift operating and box truck driving experience is required. Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements: Conditions include working in office, shop, busy traffic areas, freezers, and warehouses, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions. Must be able to safely access all areas of property and buildings. May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas. Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms, and other job-related noises. Must be able to safely access all areas of property and buildings. Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment. Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position. Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools.
