Medical Technologist - Transfusion Tissue Services
Location: Warner Robins, GA Job Category: Clinical - Lab - Direct Hire Job Code: Med Tech - Transfusion Tissue Services Duties: Provide technical expertise and consultation to all Blood Bank Labs. Perform immunohematology testing, compatibility testing for blood product administration, volume reduction, and irradiation of appropriate blood products. Manage the storage, dispensing, and tracking of tissue products. Ensure accreditation standards are followed at all facility Blood Bank Labs for FDA, American Society of Blood Banks (AABB), DNV, DCH, and College of American Pathologists (CAP). Assure technical competency of Blood Bank employees. Skills: Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment. Comfortable working in areas that contain biohazardous (infectious) materials, along with chemical, fire, and mechanical hazards. Physical duties may include standing, walking, stretching, stooping, bending, and lifting light (20 pounds) to moderately heavy (50 pounds) loads. Education: Bachelors degree required.
