Sleep Lab Technician - PRN (As Needed)
Lancaster, South Carolina As we are growing to meet the needs of our community. MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Sleep Lab Technician (Polysomnographic Technologist) to join our multidisciplinary team in the Sleep Disorders Center. Key Responsibilities: Conduct overnight, daytime, or split-night polysomnographic studies on patients of all ages. Accurately place and calibrate electrodes and other monitoring equipment according to AASM (American Academy of Sleep Medicine) standards. Monitor patients during studies, recognizing and documenting clinical events. Score sleep studies and prepare reports for physician interpretation. Maintain detailed records of procedures and ensure data quality. Ensure equipment is cleaned, maintained, and functioning properly. Provide patient education and support related to sleep study procedures and CPAP/BiPAP equipment. Minimum Training and Education: High school diploma/GED is required. Licensure/Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) with the American Heart Association (AHA) is required before orientating on the unit. Current Certified Polysomnographic Technician (CPSGT) or Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) is required.
