This is a full time position that provides a salary commensurate with experience and outstanding benefits in a truth and grace filled work environment.

The Systems Technician with comprehensive expertise in Audio, Video, and Lighting (AVL) systems is the brain trust of our Production systems within the church. The Systems Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of all AVL systems throughout the church. This position requires an individual who is proficient in understanding and interpreting wiring diagrams, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues. A strong candidate will hold a CTS-I certification, with CTS-D certification highly preferred, and a CTS certification is also advantageous.

Working Hours:

This is a full-time position, working at least 36 hours per week.

Anticipated Schedule:

Monday-Thursday 9 am 5 pm (includes a 30 min unpaid lunch); Sunday 7 am 1 pm

Event support hours vary greatly and the ability to work nights and weekends is required. During certain times of the year, additional hours may be necessary to meet the job's demands. All church staff will be asked to support and serve for religious holidays and worship services, including Christmas Eve and Easter.

Key Responsibilities

Systems Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of all AVL systems, ensuring optimal performance for all church services and events. Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all AVL equipment and ensure that all systems are properly labeled, organized, and documented. Technical Expertise: Quickly and accurately interpret and disseminate wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics related to all AVL systems. Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to audio, video, and lighting systems, minimizing downtime during services and events. Maintenance and Repair: Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance of all AVL equipment, addressing potential issues before they impact services or events. Coordinate repairs and upgrades with external vendors as necessary, ensuring timely resolution of any major equipment failures. Support and Training: Provide technical support to the churchs staff and volunteer teams, ensuring they are trained and equipped to operate AVL systems effectively. Develop and lead training sessions for staff and volunteers, focusing on best practices and safety procedures for operating AVL systems. Support the weekend service environments on standby to engage systems challenges and failures. Following and maintain the Crisis management plan as detailed is essential. Project Management: Collaborate with the Technical Director and other team members on new AVL projects, including system upgrades, installations, and design enhancements. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful completion of AVL projects within the church. Documentation and Compliance: Maintain detailed records of all system configurations, updates, and changes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and church policies. Ensure all AVL systems adhere to safety regulations and best practices, conducting regular audits to verify compliance. Event Support: Provide hands-on technical support during all church services, special events, and productions, including setup, operation, and breakdown of AVL systems. Work closely with the worship team and event coordinators to ensure all technical aspects of services and events run smoothly.

Qualifications

CTS-I Certification required; CTS-D certification highly preferred. CTS certification is also preferred. Specialist in all AVL areas, with emphasis on Audio and Video systems Extensive experience in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of AVL systems in a church or similar environment. Proficiency in reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints. Strong understanding of signal flow, acoustics, lighting design, and video systems. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to train and mentor volunteers and staff. Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required by church activities.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with advanced AVL control systems, including digital audio consoles, lighting control boards, and video switchers. Familiarity with networked AV systems, including Dante, AVB, and other IP-based protocols. Background in project management or experience leading AVL installations and upgrades. Ability to mix audio and switch cameras as needed.

Preferred Software Experience

Knowledge of Yamaha, Allen & Heath, Digico & Waves Based or Integrated Consoles Experience in RF Management Broadcast Online Live Streaming Experience Pro-Presenter 7 Ross Video Systems Video and photo editing software knowledge is a plus Microsoft Office Suite G Suite (Google, Gmail, Calendar, etc.) Asana or other project management system is a plus
