$23.69/hour $1.00/hour shift differential for 2nd shift positions Comprehensive health insurance, retirement benefits and more. In addition, we offer opportunities for career growth and professional development. Core Responsibilities: Operate hand, leg or foot activated valve to stuff sausage into casings or molds. Position on sticks and hang product to trees or trucks. Check and set proper stuffer controls. Select and position proper stuffing horn. Soak and untie bundles of casings when necessary. Service stuffers by bringing vats of meat to stuffer to dumpers and unloading meat into stuffer. Place casings on horns of stuffers. Operate stuffing machine, hang product, service stuffers, clean buckets, all part of rotation of jobs. Performs other duties as assigned by the Crew Leader and Supervisor. Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment. Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment. Tools & Equipment: Stuffing machine, hand dolly, buckets and electric dolly. Physical Demands & Work Environment: The majority of the time is spent in the plant environment and will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals. Noise level is loud in the production area and hearing protection is always required. Must be able to lift up to 70lbs. Must be able to climb on top of stuffer with use of steps and an open bucket of meat. Must be able to push loaded trees of sausage weighing about 900lbs on rail system. Safety Equipment/Training Requirement: Bump cap, hair/beardnet, eye protection/goggles, hand protection, hearing protection, apron and safety shoes.
