Location: Hampton Roads Area Command Ray & Joan Kroc Community Center
Norfolk, VA Position Type: Part-Time Pay Range: $13.00 - $17.57 About This Opportunity
Under the general direction of the Membership Coordinator, the Front Desk Associate conducts membership sales and provides an exceptional customer service experience and promotes the Kroc Center Membership and Programs to members and non-members in the community; answers the telephone in a courteous manner and directs calls to the appropriate destination; greets members, visitors and clients; provides general information about The Salvation Army's operations and services. Key Responsibilities
Knowledge of the principles and practices of public relations. Knowledge of volunteer recruitment methods and practices. Ability to plan, coordinate, and evaluate special events. Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports in an accurate and complete manner. Ability to clearly communicate roles and responsibilities to individuals and groups. Ability to plan, schedule, and conduct orientations, meetings, trainings, and public presentations. Ability to promote awareness and support for the Volunteer Program. Qualifications
What we are looking for in you: Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field, and one to three years of experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Certifications/Licenses: Valid State Driver's License Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to speak before large groups in person. Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
