Certified Occupational Assistant II

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant II is responsible for providing occupational therapy treatments to patients to restore maximum function under the direction of a registered occupational therapist. May supervise or be responsible for a particular program such as inservice coordinator. This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Requires a CA Occupational Therapy Assistant License Current CPR. Minimum of two to three years of progressive experience with the development of expertise in a given area of therapy. Special Skills: Demonstrates good interpersonal skills and the ability to work tactfully and effectively with fellow staff members, physicians, hospital departments and the general public. Exceeds performance standards in working knowledge of standard occupational therapy practices, procedures and equipment utilized in the department. Self motivated and able to achieve results through good organizational skills. Ability to work independently, within scope of practice, and be a functional team member in a team oriented environment. Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently while assuming additional responsibilities as assigned by manager/supervisor.
