Shipping And Receiving Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Shipping And Receiving Specialist to join our team on an open-ended contract. This role primarily involves managing the shipping and receiving department and may transition into a driving position in the future. You will be responsible for using computers for creating shipping labels and tracking parts, as well as operating forklifts. Responsibilities

Unload materials, parts, supplies, tools, and equipment from carriers and company vehicles, and route them to proper destinations within the plant. Segregate discrepant items or shipments and process them according to standard procedure. Identify materials, parts, tools, and items by marking, tagging, and/or coding them. Operate forklifts and company trucks up to 1

tons, and make pickups and deliveries in local and LA areas. Count, package, and protect parts and tooling for shipment, and construct pallets and crates for shipment. Ensure safe loading and unloading of equipment/parts, balance and secure loads, and ensure they are securely stretch-wrapped and/or strapped to prevent damage or loss. Perform routine checks on lift trucks and company vehicle tires, brakes, lights, gas, water, oil level, and cleanliness, and notify supervisor of any repairs or maintenance needed. Handle necessary paperwork, verify pickup and delivery orders by checking descriptions, part/tool numbers, and quantities. Perform other duties as assigned or directed. Essential Skills

Minimum two (2) years' experience in a manufacturing environment of shipping and receiving. Ability to operate forklifts and company vehicles safely. Valid California Driver's License with an acceptable motor vehicle record. Ability to maintain computer logs and records. Proficiency in reading and writing English at a level required to fulfill essential job functions. Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with shipping and receiving processes. Ability to work collaboratively with others and follow instructions from the Shop Supervisor. Ability to count accurately. Why Work Here?

This is a Contract To Hire position based out of El Cajon, California. Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
