Mold Maker 2nd Shift
Location & Shift: Evening shift On-site, full-time Company Background: A family-owned plastics mold making leader for over 100 45,000 sq ft facility focused on high-precision injection mold construction, repair, modifications, and sampling Key Responsibilities: Build, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot injection molds (including large and small tools) Disassemble/assemble mold components; perform fine machining, polishing, texturing, and alignment Read and interpret blueprints/CAD prints; perform detailed layout using shop trigonometry and precision measuring tools Operate CNC mills, lathes, EDM, surface grinders, and spotting presses Maintain detailed logs, ensure molds are prepped for production, and conduct quality checks Analyze mold defects (flashing, venting, cooling issues) and execute corrective actions Fabricate or fit spare parts and tooling components, support mold revisions Work alongside engineering and maintenance teams to drive continuous process improvements Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; technical schooling or apprenticeship in mold/tool making preferred Minimum 5 years' experience in plastic injection mold making or tool & die Proficient with machine shop equipment and precision measuring instruments Strong blueprint reading, trigonometry, mechanical aptitude, and CNC operation skills Able to lift moderate loads and stand for extended periods during shift Desired Traits: Detail-oriented, safety- and quality-conscious mindset Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Team player, adaptable during off-hours Comfortable documenting work and interfacing across departments Please submit a resume for consideration.
