Concrete Foreman

A concrete foreman is responsible for leading a crew of concrete workers on construction projects, overseeing all aspects of concrete placement and finishing, including scheduling tasks, ensuring quality standards are met, managing equipment, training crew members, and maintaining safety compliance on the job site, while interpreting blueprints and project specifications to complete concrete work efficiently and on time. Job Responsibilities

Supervise and direct a team of concrete laborers and operators, assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensuring efficient workflow. Ensure compliance with the company's safety policies and procedures. Ensure crews have tools, materials, and instructions to complete tasks. Coordinate material and labor needs with project superintendent. Coordinate work activities with subcontractors. Report quantities to management staff. Understand and meet production rates to meet schedule and budget requirements. Read and interpret blueprints, survey stakes, and project plans to determine concrete placement, elevations, and finishing requirements. Oversee the setup and removal of concrete forms, ensuring proper alignment and dimensions. Direct the use of various concrete finishing tools to achieve desired surface textures and quality, including troweling, screeding, and edging. Operate and maintain concrete-related equipment like vibrators, power trowels, and concrete pumps. Inspect concrete work for compliance with specifications, identifying and addressing any defects. Monitor and manage the use of concrete materials, ensuring proper mix ratios and timely deliveries. Collaborate with project managers, other trades, and clients to ensure smooth project execution and address concerns. Employee will be responsible for concrete to include how much to pour; when to pour. Observe all company and customer policies and safety requirements. All other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements

Must have minimum 4 years' experience in field. Must have experience with concrete in sidewalk building, curve, gutter, bridges. Must have a valid Texas driver license. Knowledge of math skills. Ability and knowledge of using concrete finishing equipment: float, hand float, finisher, power trowel, straight edge. Experience supervising a team of laborers, form setters, and operators. Additional Information

The employee assumes responsibility and is presumed to know the routine work details and performance standards of the job and to perform assigned tasks with direct supervision. Employee may be subject to long hours, weekend and holiday work. Work requires the direction and guidance of lead man, foreman, supervisor and helpers. Physical Demands

Constantly standing. Position is a 24/7 emergency service provider; the position will require on-call/storm related night and weekend work. Must be able to detect errors in systems and in writing. Constantly works in the field, environment in high movement. Exerting up to 25-50 lbs. occasionally, 15 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly OR requires walking or standing to a significant degree. Occasionally, ascend/ descends a ladder to function/ process daily tasks. Face to face contact with employees and travel to location is necessary. Position requires the operation of motor vehicle; driving to and from locations using bodily movement and climbing to and from vehicle. Position requires use of tools to grasp, pull and push with exertion of 25-50lb.
