Provides engineering support to the process network in the manufacturing plant. This includes leading programming, configuring and troubleshooting the entire process control network. Drives the standards for the site for the DCS system. Drives the mechanical integrity of the system to ensure safety and quality aspects of manufacturing. Provides controls support for engineering team projects. Responsibilities

Seeks optimal solutions to complex problems with existing technology, best available technology, and costs. Troubleshooting in cases of equipment failure and upset conditions. Lead technologist for recommending system upgrades, modifications, and determining long range strategies for coping with rapidly evolving technology. Coordinate the writing and updating of plant control system documentation including logic diagrams, interlock lists, sequence flow charts, database documentation, control system layout drawings, etc. This includes the confirmation of all documentation deliverables from project implementation is received and archived appropriately. Interfaces with other plant departments such that work has no negative impacts in day to day operations. Department heads are aware of requirements when downtime windows are needed for project implementation. Responsible for the Mechanical integrity of the automation systems. Drives the checkout operations of new systems and the mechanical integrity process of existing systems with the assistance of the Mechanical Integrity and Plant engineers. Implement a standard framework for all programming logic is provided for all new and modifications to automation in the plant. Supports other members of plant engineering team with implementation of projects requiring automation expertise. Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Electrical Engineering 4 years (minimum) industrial experience with familiarity of chemical processing systems Understanding integration of instrument and process control systems and their potential impacts on operating processes Knowledge of optimization techniques Able to identify opportunities for supply improvements, reliability, optimization and throughput Must understand basic financial concepts as relevant to project development Must be able to integrate work with technology team Demonstrated leadership skills and teambuilding capability Understands fundamental strategies of control engineering Working knowledge of distributed control systems (DCS), PLCs, and general instrumentation controls.
