Aggregate/Maintenance Operator
Melvin Stone is seeking a skilled and dependable Aggregate/Maintenance Operator to join our team. In this role, you'll operate heavy equipment, maintain and repair aggregate plant machinery, and ensure safe and efficient production operations. Key Skills & Responsibilities
Equipment Operation Safely operate a front-end loader to feed the aggregate processing plant. Use programmable logic controllers (PLC) to monitor and control plant operations (training provided). Mechanical & Maintenance Skills Perform daily preventative maintenance and equipment inspections. Repair and replace screens, conveyor systems, and other plant components. Fabricate and weld parts as needed. Use hand tools, power tools, and cutting tools to complete repairs. Safety & Compliance Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and best practices. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Consistently demonstrate a proven safety track record. Physical & Work Environment Skills Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Climb stairs/ladders up to 24 feet. Work in various weather conditions. Communication & Teamwork Communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors and team members. Follow instructions while also taking initiative to solve problems independently. Meet deadlines and production goals in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency (HSE). Valid driver's license. Previous heavy equipment operation experience (front-end loader preferred). Prior aggregate or quarry experience a plus, but not required for mechanically skilled candidates. Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
