Scientific Programmer
to support an upcoming proposal with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Résumé of successful candidate(s) will be included with our proposal. The Scientific Programmer develops and maintains analytical tools, scripts, and applications to support data processing, modeling, and visualization for marine protected species research. This position bridges biological research and computational workflows. Responsibilities
Develop software tools in R, Python, or other languages to process and analyze ecological data. Build and maintain RShiny apps and other user interfaces for data exploration and reporting. Automate data workflows and assist in the development of reproducible scientific pipelines. Collaborate with scientists to translate analytical needs into scalable code solutions. Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science, data science, or a related quantitative field. Proficiency in R, Python, Git, and data visualization tools. Experience working with large datasets and building scientific applications. Familiarity with ecological data and statistical modeling techniques. Strong communication and documentation skills.
